Presented as one clear, practical guide for metalworkers, Edition 17 builds on what HMT users already rely on: faster, safer, modular portable drilling systems designed to speed up metalworking.
This V17 edition for 2026 brings further evolution within the range, including new product releases, range extensions, and extensive updates to best-practice recommendations and technical data sheets.
What’s New in Edition 17
VersaDrive
Versadrive is HMT’s unique modular cutting tool system, built with our patented hex-shank quick-change design. It is engineered to handle drilling, hole enlargement, threading and finishing operations using a single shank across a wide range of drive tools.
In Edition 17, the Versadrive range continues to expand with new additions such as SheetCutters and further tapping solutions, extending the system’s capability
The 101050 SheetCutters provide a clean, efficient solution for cutting holes in thin materials where speed and accuracy are required.
Also updated for Edition 17 is the 132003-M30 Versadrive Clutched Adapter, extending controlled torque threading and tapping capability up to M30.
SteelBor
Steelbor is HMT’s range of magnet drilling machines and tooling, built around the universal Weldon shank system.
Edition 17 expands the Steelbor range with additional machines and tooling options.
The S36 Compact Magnet Drill (850326) is a lightweight machine designed for everyday steelwork and use in restricted access areas.
For pipework applications, the V36 Pipe Magnet Drill (805036) is a cordless 18V machine engineered specifically for drilling on curved surfaces.
The OverReach System provides extended reach drilling capability for obstructed or hard-to-access hole locations.
Also introduced in Edition 17 is the SilverMax HSS Drilling & Broaching Set (107020-SS2), bringing together the most commonly used drill sizes in a simple, practical kit for everyday drilling tasks.

STAKIT
STAKIT is HMT’s modular storage and kitting system.
Edition 17 introduces the STAKIT Turbo Drilling Kit (STK-ETOP2-DRILL), a ready-to-go drilling kit built around commonly specified tooling and supplied in a compact STAKIT case.
Accessories
The Edition 17 accessories range features several new additions across drilling, countersinking and magnet drill fitment, including the V18-120 Rotary Pistol drill.
TurboTip Cobalt Drill Bits (202050) offer faster drilling and longer life in stainless steel and other demanding materials, helping reduce feed pressure and improve productivity during handheld drilling tasks.
A new 31mm Morse Taper Countersink (602030) has been added for larger countersinking applications, offering a practical finishing solution where standard sizes are not sufficient.
The Medium Magnet Drill Chuck (103018) has been added to the range to provide a more compact chuck solution for light and medium magnet drills.
